Just be careful, before you update, you must know that if you’re baseband will be upgraded, so your phone will be locked again. Until the dev-team release a new tool and unlock, you’re phone will be locked, and maybe “un-jailbreakable”.

But if you should update, before you do, open up Cydia, and follow the steps to have your ECID SHSH on file. If done successfully, a text will appear on the very top of the Cydia main page : “This iPhone 3G/S has an ECID SHSH on file”.

Doing this will possible help in jailbreaking the 3.1 OS.

Good luck!

My iPhone 3GS arrived – or else I picked it up from the courier’s post office. I just couldn’t wait anymore :P

We know that uninstalling Cydia apps is a bit annoying as you have to open up Cydia and wait for it to reload and all and the uninstall.

But with CyDelete, you can do this directly from your homescreen (Springboard) as you do with AppStore apps.

Install it, and then you have to restart your Springboard.

If you want to delete an App, just hold your finger on any icon and you will notice that the icons will shake and an “X” will apear on each icon

You see, AppStore apps have their X in a black circle whereas Cydia ones have their’s in a Red Circle: see (MIM and Cycorder)

Now tap on an X of a Cydia App

This message will show up asking you to confirm the deletion.

Enjoy!

Finally got my hands on Apple’s Bluetooth headset that was released especially for the iPhone.

I got it for 60$ from an eBay seller. Yes, for 60$, but it didn’t include the fancy dock and the sleek iPhone-like box. Anways I didn’t need the dock because I already have a Griffin dock (will be reviewed later). However, the cable was included.

 Another photo:

Now the cable is nice. It can charge both the iPhone and the Headset at the same time. But what is a nice feature is that if you want to pair the iPhone with the headet, you just need to connect them both and they’ll be paired automatically

Cable

This is where the headset connects

This is a picture of the headset connected – the orange dot indicates that it is charging and if it lights green it means it’s fully charged

In this picture, you can see how the iPhone and headset are connected to the same cable.

The iPhone also shows how much power that headset has when they’re connected to each other. This is how the headset the phone are paired together.

Usage:

I’ve read from other places that the sound quality is not well compared to other headsets. Also mentioned that the top-volume is a bit low. I have used Nokia and Sony Ericsson headsets, but this one is nothing less. Sound is very clear, and volume is loud enough to be heard in a noisy place.

The battery also is fine, but it could’ve been better. I can go for 2 days (sometimes 3) without a recharge. Some people complain that they’ve got battery issues. (….?)

However, what I don’t like about the headset is; it doesn’t hold on to your ear very securely. I mean, I have to continuosly keep it in place if I walk  by just pushing it back in. Nokia headsets hold on very well – of course this depends on the design of the headset it self.

To answer an incoming call, you have to press a button on top of the headset. This button is on the very top.  And to turn it off/on, hold your finger on the button until you hear an opening or closing beep. You can tell which by the beep.

Overall:

Pros:

1- Nice looking

2- Great sound quality – very clear sound

3- Very light on your ear

4- Battery is good – Quick recharge

5- Fast pairing – just plug in

Cons:

1- Doesn’t hold on to your ear very well

2- Not the best microphone if used in a noisy place

Cant think of anything else so far :)

Some of you 3G owners are still waiting for the dev-team to release and unlock tool for the new OS3.0

The tool named “ultrasn0w” is now available via Cydia or Icy at this repo: repo666.ultrasn0w.com (note that the “0″ in snow is a zero and not an o [alphabet] - make sure)

Before you do anything, you must have iTunes v8.2 and must restore and jailbreak first using redsn0w and then download ultrasn0w via Cydia or Icy using the repo above.

Thank you dev-team!

Enjoy!
